Location Map

Located just two miles East of New London off of Highway S is the Mosquito Hill Nature Center which boasts one of the highest elevation points in the vicinity.  The center has a picturesque 430 acres that borders the Wolf River.  They are open year-round and provide environmental education as well as indoor and outdoor opportunities to explore and enjoy nature.

Inside the center you will find a selection of natural history displays, exhibit areas, an art gallery, a library, an auditorium, and classrooms.  The building is WiFi internet accessible.  Outside there is a butterfly house that is open from July through August and an observatory used during scheduled events.

Three miles of developed hiking trails includes several prairie trails and a loop to the top of Mosquito Hill where there are inspiring scenic overlooks.  During the winter snow season there are five miles of snowshoe trails and one un-groomed cross-country skiing trail.  (All trails are closed during deer hunting season).

Seasonal festivals and public programs include a Winter Family Fun Day, Musky Magic Show, Butterfly House Exhibit, Harvest Moon Festival, and a Nature Art Festival.  Visit their web site for a complete schedule.
